One can do a lot on a slow Sunday afternoon. I just messed around with fabric scraps and Pam Buda's courthouse steps block. (You can find the foundation paper piece pattern here).
It will be a long and narrow runner when it's finished... much like what Pam made with the four free blocks she offered on her blog recently. I opted to use four courthouse step blocks to make my scrappy runner. You can see Pam's completed runner here. Thanks for the inspiration Pam!!!
Wishing all of you a wonderful week of sewing!!!
What a great runner! I need to stop thinking "quilts" long enough to think about making things like this. My dining room table definitely needs one of these. Thanks so much for sharing, and for the great idea!
ReplyDeleteFun blocks, and lots of great fabrics in there!
ReplyDeleteOh how I love your runner! Your fabrics are just awesome. I need to make one of those.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love it, Kathy. Great fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI saved out that foundation pattern because I wanted to make a mini quilt of those blocks. The difference here is that you have really made something and I still just have the pattern sitting out.
ReplyDeleteIt looks just great! : )
It's a nice runner you made. Thank you for the link to Pam's blog.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Joke
I will fight you for the blue binding fabric.... Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove it, it looks great! One of my favourite blocks!
ReplyDeleteThose are so very pretty! Looks great! How big are those blocks?
ReplyDeleteI love it Kathy...wonderful fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI like scrappy too. And a log cabin style block. I don't like using foundation piecing but it really helps with the narrow strips. I tend to wander closer to the edge on the end of a strip and end up with wonky log cabin blocks.
ReplyDeleteI love the scrappy look of this beautiful Table runner.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with how quickly you sewed it together too!
Great fabric choices - your Courthouse Steps is going to make a terrific tablerunner! Really like the indigo blue for the finishing.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt in your header is wonderful!
What a great idea ! Just love your table runner !
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be beautiful. I just love a good log cabin. Thank you also for the link to the foundation paper. I find I need that when making log cabins. Otherwise mine are wonky!
ReplyDeleteYou always choose perfect fabrics to go together!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Great way to take a project or pattern and make it your own!
ReplyDeleteThe blocks are so pretty! They will make a sweet runner!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love these blocks!
ReplyDeleteI love that block! I'd really like to make a full size quilt just like that....
ReplyDeleteI love this runner and I loved the one Pam did on her website, it's on my list to do.
ReplyDeleteLove it : )
ReplyDeleteLove your skinny table runner! That's a great block to use for leftover bits and pieces.
