I kept true to a promise to myself... to finish my Moravian Star by the weekend! Friday evening was spent sewing the two half stars together, to make one star! At its widest point, it measures 8 inches.
It's a bit difficult to capture its dimensions with just one picture.
For now my star will sit among a few other favorite things of mine. I'm just hoping that Buddy (my one eyed, sassy cat) doesn't mistake it for a toy for him...
It's Saturday morning... time to head into the sewing room! Today's plan is to piece together the Civil War Doll Quilt that Kathleen Tracy has selected for the February SmallQuiltTalk sew along.
What will you be sewing this weekend?

ReplyDeleteYour star is wonderful! It looks very fun.:)
ReplyDeleteLoving this, did you make it without a pattern or is there some basic instructions somewhere? Very cute.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Glad I didn't miss seeing this one!
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Kathy. Looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove Kathleen Tracy's quilts, but I have actually resisted sewing along on this one. Will look forward to seeing yours!
Fabulous star. Love it. Can you direct me towards a pattern/link for it please. I'd love to make one. Thanks. Hugs,xx.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty! What a pretty collage of red prints. Wonderful job. Your kitty sounds like my Teddy who has been known to claim many a thing from my sewing rom as his toy.
ReplyDeleteLooks great Kindred. I had that on my list of stuff to get done before Christmas ... but that didn't happen. I've got all of the stuff - just need to put mine together!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautifull Moravian star. I'm in love with it and want to put it on my wishlist.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Joke
Gee, the star is so interesting. Would make a wonderful large ornament for Christmas time.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out gorgeous! I too like the shades of red and fabric prints. Can use for Christmas and Patriotic displays! VERY NICE WORK!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great project you did - and all hand stitched! It deserves a special place to display it - just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing your beautiful star! It looks very complicated to me. How many diamond shapes are in each star?
ReplyDeleteOh my. Speechless. I can't believe you made it. Incredible.
