A quick post this evening to link up with Lily Patch Quilts and Christmas Through the Year.
I had big hopes of starting January off with a big bang
of a Christmas 2013 project! That didn't happen, but
I won't fret over it.
I had a leftover block from Joanne's Thread Head
Quilt Along that I participated in last fall. Originally
I wanted to make a fall and a Christmas table topper
for the sew along, but halfway through I kept the fall
blocks coming, but ended up with only four red and
green blocks. So I took one of those blocks, added a couple of borders, and made a 10 x 10 mini. It will be handy to have on hand come the holidays... perhaps a stocking stuffer for my daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, or ???
Why not pour a cup of coffee and enjoy it while checking out the CTTY pretties at Lily Patch Quilts? I can't think of a better way to spend a few minutes of the day!!!

| I laid the finished block on some Christmas fabric to give it a festive look for the picture! |

I didn't know that CTTY went every year. I heard about it last year and thought it was a great idea.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think this turned out to be a pretty little "festive" mini. : )
I "sew" enjoy the idea of CTTY. Even by looking at the others' projects, I can get more ideas for more Christmas presents. I have ALWAYS made for Christmas throughout the year - but having others do it too is even more fun.
ReplyDeleteWay to go! Looks like you made your goal of a Chrismas project in January...even though it may not be done...won't take too long to fix that! That will be an easy finish for you! Enjoy your quiet time this morning!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Kathy! This quilt is going to make someone very happy.
ReplyDeletePretty use of a leftover block. Nice start on Christmas.
ReplyDeleteYour mini quilt looks so festive. Love it. It would definitely make a great stockig stuffer. Thanks for linking up with CTTY.
